Golden Age of Hollywood Movie Premiere

We transformed The Stave Room into a glamorous Golden Age of Hollywood movie premiere for our longtime client’s year-end company celebration. Rich black and red draping set the tone, immersing guests in a cinematic experience from the moment they arrived.

The evening began at street level with dramatic searchlights leading guests down a red carpet lined with period-inspired paparazzi photographers. A striking three-tier fountain of roses anchored the entrance, setting the stage. Inside, a live jazz trio provided the ambiance, transporting guests straight to the 1920s.

Passed bites reflected the era with a modern twist, including stuffed blue cheese fried olives, chilled sea scallops, and tuna tartare, all served on custom movie reel trays. A curated champagne tasting with caviar pairings showcased exceptional grower champagnes, led by a professional sommelier. Additional culinary offerings included dirty martini steak frites, a stromboli station, traditional carving, fried rice with crispy orange chicken, and spring rolls. Desserts continued the theme with grasshopper shots, a classic ice cream sundae bar served in vintage-style glassware, and a banana foster cocktail station.

Custom fabrications concealed structural poles and were topped with lush palms, while guest seating featured an eclectic mix of cocktail tables, lounge groupings, banquets, and varied bar stool styles. Dramatic feather plumes in rich hues added texture throughout the space. A custom black-and-white dance floor and custom gold-and-black DJ booth became a focal point, flanked by two displays of antique-style Foo dogs for an Art Deco finish.

Additional design elements included an Art Deco–inspired chalkboard welcome illustration, textured lighting with palm and geometric motifs, custom movie posters, and suspended illuminated food station signage. Silent films were projected above the dessert area, enhancing the cinematic atmosphere. Florals were playfully arranged in director’s chairs instead of traditional vases.

Interactive experiences rounded out the evening with a fashion sketch artist creating hand-painted designs, a photo booth, an espresso bar, and a DJ who closed out the night in true Hollywood style.
