Our Favorite Furry Friends

We admire PAWS Atlanta’s devotion to providing a high quality of life for animals, commitment to a community-centered mission, and focus on how pet ownership can enrich our lives. Here at AFFAIRS to REMEMBER, we are especially fond of furry friends. Many of us own pets, including some dogs and cats that were adopted directly from PAWS Atlanta.

As a no-kill shelter, PAWS Atlanta has made a promise never to euthanize a cat or dog due to space constraints. Their mission is to give all the animals in their care the time, attention, and training needed for them to thrive. As pet lovers ourselves, we believe that treating animals with the decency they deserve is a must.

As a company, we are committed to supporting PAWS Atlanta so if you ever need a furry friend, we hope you look there first!

Events

Party for the PAWS. Based on the updated CDC guidance, we’re SUPER excited to go in person for Party for the PAWS in September! Party for the PAWS will be hosted on September 25 at a gorgeous new venue called Bishop Station. The night will feature an open bar, delicious food, live and silent auctions, and the most adorable doggie runway.

Puppy Therapy. Studies have shown that playing with a dog or cat can elevate levels of serotonin and dopamine which calm and relax us. Our Puppy Therapy sessions are BACK with updated safety protocols (masks, social distancing, hand sanitizing, and outdoors only). Schedule a session and feel the stress melt away with our pro pup therapists. The smiles and good vibes will last WAY longer than 90 minutes, we promise.

Programs

BIG Give Pet Food Drive. We understand money can be especially tight right now. Anyone who needs pet food is welcome to come by our drive-through BIG Give Pet Food Drives or make an appointment for our Pet Food Bank.

Training for a Cause. Would you love to teach your pup better manners? We've teamed up with the pros at Canine Ph.D. to offer exclusive training classes. Not only are these classes and workshops offered at a discounted rate, 100% of the proceeds are going to our shelter pets. We'll have plenty of room to spread out and keep both humans and pups safe during these sessions.

Vaccine Clinic. Keep your pets healthy year-round by visiting through our Vaccine Clinics hosted every other Sunday. We offer affordable services such as vaccines, microchipping, heartworm tests, heartworm/flea/tick preventatives, and nail trims.

Get Involved

Adopt. Looking for a new best friend? We’ve got you covered. Complete an adoption application and send it to our team at info@pawsatlanta.org to get started and schedule an appointment.

Foster. Unable to adopt? Consider fostering! Fostering allows animal lovers to welcome dogs and cats into their homes and provide socialization in a warm and friendly environment. A socialized pet naturally has a much greater chance of being adopted.

Volunteer

Individual. We couldn't care for over 1,000 cats and dogs every year without our compassionate and dedicated volunteers. Each year our volunteers give hands-on care to animals, educate our community, provide administrative support, and more.

Group. Want to give back to animals with your coworkers or friends? Typical group volunteer tasks include walking and socializing dogs, entertaining and socializing cats, landscaping, painting, helping with small building projects, and sorting animal crates, food, leashes, and toys.

PAWS Atlanta, Georgia’s oldest no-kill animal shelter, has been working hard to save the lives of at-risk homeless animals for more than a half-century. We are an all-breeds, hands-on, deeply committed rescue, partnering with other metro Atlanta shelters, large and small, to help over one thousand dogs and cats find lasting homes each year. Our no-kill philosophy is very simple. It means that we give all the animals in our care, the time, medical attention & behavioral training they need and deserve to thrive.

We believe that people and pets bring out the best in each other. Therefore, our mission is to build a community of caring, by people helping pets and pets helping people.
