Food Distribution Systems

Hang with us for a second here…we promise it’ll be worth your time.

So you want the best duck in the world, okay? And it’s raised in Georgia! Easy-peasy, right?

Nope. Our duck that’s raised in Georgia gets transported to Alabama for processing. It’s frozen there, then it gets shipped to a major warehouse near Atlanta where it’s stored until it’s shipped to a caterer or restaurant or grocery store where you can buy it.

Don’t even ask about Chinese apples.

In the opposite direction, there’s the option of “local food systems“, which could include, but not limited to, your local farmers markets and consumer supported agriculture (CSA). Did you know that Affairs to Remember is a CSA pickup point?
