Many of our readers know about the year-round Emory Farmers Market, open 11:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. at Cox Hall Bridge, but many may not be aware that the overall Sustainability at Emory initiatives are incredibly broad and far-reaching.
And the university is saving money by instituting various sustainability programs on-campus…to the tune of millions of dollars! On food, they support heritage livestock, many students observe “Meatless Mondays“, and the university is exploring water conservation initiatives, to name only a few things Emory is doing to be more Green.
“Emory’s sustainability vision is to help restore the global ecosystem, foster healthy living, and reduce the University’s impact on the local environment. Progress will be measured using the environmental, economic, and social “triple bottom line” of sustainability.”
