Legacy Green

AFFAIRS to REMEMBER, Atlanta's first Zero Waste Zones caterer and Atlanta's greenest caterer, continually strives to raise the bar for corporate citizenship in Atlanta. This goal is accomplished in part through our Legacy Green program.

The initial success of Legacy Giving fostered a second corporate initiative—Legacy Green.  The hospitality industry is a huge consumer of resources, as well as a massive landfill contributor. In 2014, AFFAIRS to REMEMBER reached the milestone of having diverted 500 tons (one million pounds) of recoverable materials from local landfills. As of the end of 2016, we have diverted away from landfills more than 1.4 million pounds of recoverable materials, averaging 4,000 pounds per week, which is more than 100 tons per year. Additionally, we've positively impacted the sustainability arena with these actions:

Recycling & Composting

Recycling spent cooking oil into bio-diesel fuel
Company-wide recycling program
Composting on-campus food residuals, as well on party sites
Glass recycling
