Affairs to Remember, Atlanta’s greenest caterer, trailblazed the special events industry in Atlanta in 1977 and has not slowed down since.
The company continually innovates through trending menu development, event design, establishing and growing its sustainability program Legacy Green, and giving back to the Atlanta community through its Legacy Giving program, which is poised to soon reach another major milestone. The company has expanded its offerings beyond catering to include Event Consulting in Atlanta and out-of-state, Beverage Services, and Venue Management.
In the late 70s, the company quickly gained popularity among Atlanta’s party hosts and party-goers. In a television interview, Co-owner Ron Lazarus said, “We don’t care to be the biggest caterer in town. We want to be known as the best.”
The award-winning company, as it turns out, has become one of the largest privately-owned luxury catering companies in the United States, and frequently garners glowing client reviews that, indeed, include the words “best caterer in town”.
Affairs to Remember hit a growth surge when Atlanta was courting Olympic Committees from around the world hoping to win the bid for the 1996 Summer Olympics. Atlanta won the bid and Affairs to Remember went for the gold medal in catered events.
Events during that era were styled for opulence! One was a served dinner for hundreds on the stage at the Fox Theatre, with talent from Phantom of the Opera singing the world-famous music, standing in the balcony of the 4,665 seat auditorium, to the guests on the stage.
Over the years, Affairs to Remember has expanded its experience and expertise to include venue management, AFFAIRS at the FOX; they’ve ventured into local and out-of-state Event Consulting, and have navigated the alcohol licensing labyrinth and build-out requirements leading to being the exclusive Beverage Services provider at Mason Fine Art.
There are numerous venues where Affairs to Remember is the preferred or approved caterer, including notable venues such as the Fox Theatre, Mason Fine Art, Atlanta History Center, Atlanta Botanical Garden, Fernbank Museum of Natural History, Biltmore Ballrooms, Foundry at Puritan Mill, and Delta Flight Museum.
Catering 100% off-premise, the company designs events at other favored event facilities, popular attractions, offices, private homes, and they boast a luxury delivery service that has spanned its 40-year history.
Affairs to Remember’s more than 1,200 events per year span corporate events, holiday parties, and weddings, as well as non-profit events and fundraising galas.
“It’s part of being human, to give back when you’ve been so fortunate,” said Co-owner Scott Ardolino referencing the company’s Legacy Giving program, which offers Metro Atlanta non-profit organizations sponsorship of catering and event design for their fundraising events.
On its 40th anniversary, Affairs to Remember recalls that its first party, on September 17, 1977, was a 40th-anniversary party for the Romoff’s in the Foxcroft Condominiums clubhouse…the company’s first of many “affairs to remember.”
