Affairs to Remember Caterers, Atlanta's first Zero Waste Zones caterer, has announced that Nancy Lutz has been promoted to Director of Special Events for AFFAIRS at the FOX, managing the Fox Theatre's Private Events Department, including responsibility for coordination of event catering and vendor partners, and event spaces including the Egyptian Ballroom, Grand Salon and Terrace, Spanish Ballroom and Landmarks Lounge.
Nancy brings more than 30 years of catering and entertainment expertise to her new role, while also having achieved a successful balance that honors career and family.
"Fox Theatre" is a household name in Atlanta, and many local—and international—citizens, families, companies and nonprofit organizations often share rich stories about their Fox Theatre experiences that are passed from generation to generation.
In addition to managing the creation and execution of clients’ special events, in her new role Nancy will be contributing to the "Fox Food Story", which is built on the foundation of three aspects of the Fox Theatre: its architecture, its location at the epicenter of the New South, and the fan-favorite shows delivered on the Fox stage.
Affairs to Remember’s General Manager Rich Wilner said, "We are excited to have Nancy leading our partnership with the Fox Theatre, managing their iconic event spaces and total event production. Nancy has designed and executed many magnificent events in this space, and throughout Atlanta, for hundreds of thousands of guests. That and her unrivaled desire to create the most magical experience possible for her clients make Nancy the perfect fit for leading AFFAIRS at the FOX."
Nancy's illustrious career began immediately after earning a degree in Public Relations when she joined the Opening Team for the then-new Ritz-Carlton in downtown Atlanta. She later gained experience in off-premise catering.
With her accumulating expertise, Nancy launched the catering firm Food Glorious Food, Inc. as Owner & CEO, which she led for 10 years before selling the award-winning company, after which she started a family that grew to include her husband Dennis and two sons, the youngest recently being accepted to Clemson University. After selling Food Glorious Food, Nancy transitioned from business owner to business consultant, where she continued to thrive as a hospitality professional.
Immediately prior to assuming her new role, Nancy served as a Senior Catering Consultant for Affairs to Remember Caterers, which she joined in July 2003.
"Nancy's honed business acumen and extensive experience—planning and executing parties for up to 2,500 guests—is a credit to her commitment to professionalism and ever-strong desire to create memorable events for her clients. She makes total success and client satisfaction her personal goals for each and every client. Her formula for success aligns with Affairs to Remember’s mission to 'explore and celebrate hospitality with passion and discipline', an attribute that makes us proud to have her on our team," said Managing Director Patrick Cuccaro.
Nancy is a member of the Atlanta Chapter of the esteemed Les Dames d'Escoffier International (LDEI), an organization of accomplished professional women leaders in the food, beverage and hospitality industries. LDEI fosters excellence and promotes the achievement of women in culinary professions through education and philanthropy. She currently serves as the organization’s Scholarship Co-Chair. She also is a charter member of Wedding Industry Professionals Association (WIPA) and serves on their Programming Committee.
Nancy tells us, "I'm grateful for a career that has allowed me to pursue two of my greatest passions—people and parties. The Fox Theatre has been a part of my family's traditions for decades, so I'm honored to be a part of making Fox Theatre memories for other families, lifelong fans and first-time visitors that will become stories they will share for generations to come."
Nancy attended the University of Alabama where she earned a degree in Public Relations and Human Resource Management. It was in her junior year in college when she was attending the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, studying Hospitality, that her love for Hospitality Management was born. She also extends her entertaining knowledge as an instructor, leading popular classes such as "The Art of Entertaining" and she authored a year-long Facebook column titled, "Life of the Party with Nancy Lutz".
