Chefs at the Fox

★ ★ ☆ ★ ★

Metro Atlanta’s Alton Brown has graced the stage at the Fox Theatre more than once. Did you even know he lives in Metro Atlanta? I knew he lives on my television screen….that’s pretty local, right?

Did you know that same show’s US Tour, Alton Brown Live: Eat Your Science, is taking Chef Alton to Broadway? I didn’t get to see him when he was onstage at the Fox earlier this year, but I have met him twice! Super nice guy. One of those times was at an onstage presentation and book signing at the Smithsonian Natural History Museum. Yes, I have a copy of Good Eats signed by the culinary scientist himself, and I use it often!

By the way, just in case you didn’t know, Alton Brown has a new cookbook coming out in September this year: EveryDayCook.

And just last year, Giada De Laurentiis spoke to a sold out crowd in the Egyptian Ballroom. Giada hosts and appears on a number of shows, but my personal favorite is Giada in Italy.

So, why am I talking about past events? One, to let you know what you missed (if you were there, you know what a great time it was!), and two, to encourage you to sign up for Fox Theatre show announcements (so you won’t miss the next chef event, or anything else you might kick yourself for later because you missed it…just because you didn’t know about it).  Oh, and when you sign up for the Fox Theatre E-club, you can select only the kinds of shows and events you want hear about! How awesome is that!

As caterers—and  die-hard foodies—we think it’s pretty cool that in addition to shows, concerts, movies and amazing events in the Fox Theatre ballrooms, there’s room for celebrity chefs!
